David Harris
Chief Executive Officer
David Harris serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board for HAWK Network Defense. As CEO, Mr. Harris is responsible for the overall strategy and performance of the company. Mr. Harris is a veteran of the IT Security market with over 25 years of experience in Management, Sales, and Technology Development. He was a member of the original team at Internet Security Systems ISS, and a key contributor in growing the company from 1 million to over 130 million and a successful IPO in 1998. ISS was later acquired by IBM for 1.4 Billion.
Mr. Harris served as the VP of Business Development for the first SIEM to market; ESecurity. Mr. Harris was responsible for all strategic alliances ESecurity was acquired by Novell. Mr. Harris later served as the Chief Strategy Officer for Citadel Security Software. During his tenure revenue grew from 1 million to 20 million. Mr. Harris was the visionary behind the subsequent acquisition by McAfee.
Mr. Harris has served on several boards and is a board member of HAWK. Mr. Harris is an alumnus of Texas Tech University and the Rawls School of Business.
Tim Shelton
CTO & Founder
Tim Shelton is the founder and Chief Technology Officer of HAWK. In his role, Mr. Shelton is responsible for the overall product strategy and integration strategies of the company. Mr. Shelton is a heavily experienced IT Security practitioner having served in such roles with several companies, most notably ACS(Xerox). While at ACS, Mr. Shelton was recognized as one the thought leaders in developing the security service delivery models and back end processes. Tim has been a critical visionary for the company's technology and sales (go-to-market) strategies.
Mr. Shelton is widely recognized in the industry as an expert on 0 Day exploits and countermeasures to defend against them. He is a frequent speaker at Black Hat and other security focused events. Mr. Shelton attended Dallas Baptist University's School of Computer Science.
Reed Harrison
VP of Marketing
Reed Harrison has served as an innovator and recognized specialist in the information security and enterprise software industries for over 30 years. Reed is the former Chief Technology Officer, Security & Compliance Solutions for Novell Corporation. He assumed this position in 2006 when Novell acquired e-Security Inc., a company he co-founded in 1999 in which Mr. Harrison served as Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to e-Security, Reed served eight years as Chief Information Security Officer at Harris Corporation, where he built and successfully deployed global security processes and standards and established enterprise level security controls. While at Harris, Mr. Harrison directed development of a patented network-based intrusion detection solution in 1998. Mr. Harrison holds a BS degree from Florida Institute of Technology.
Chris Gummer, CPA
Chief Financial Resource
Chris Gummer joined HAWK in March 2016.. Chris has a broad range of accounting and financial experience as an operator and consultant to clients for over 1 5 years.
In 2000, Chris joined Financial Computer Software where he spent 7 years helping build the world leader in Asset Management Software and Leverage Loan Data. Through those years Mr. Gummer worked in a variety of roles, often consulting with CFOs and their accounting departments on how to improve their processes, create efficiencies and reduce costs through the use of technology. His experience includes being CFO of a steel construction company where he transformed the administration of the company, revamping the financial processes of the company decreased collection times, increased recognized revenue, and resolved several regulatory issues. Chris graduated from SMU with a BBA in Accounting.
